Saved workspaces

A workspace is an arrangement of panes and the conversations in them. You can save the current arrangement under a name and restore it later.

Save, restore and delete

Open Appearance → Layout → Workspace:

  • Save stores the current arrangement under a name. You can keep up to 8.
  • Restore applies a saved arrangement.
  • Delete removes it.

What is saved

The shape of the arrangement (splits, pane sizes) and which conversations are in which pane. Conversations that are not open when you restore appear in their panes once they exist again.

Where it is stored

Section titled “Where it is stored”

In settings.json in your data folder (Appearance → Import & folder shows its location). Saved data is validated when it is loaded: limits on depth and pane count apply, and a conversation appears in only one pane.
