/connect [network] Connect the current or named network
/disconnect [reason] Disconnect the current network
/quit [reason] Disconnect every network
Command Purpose
/join <#chan>[,<#chan>] [key[,key]] Join channels
/part [#chan] [reason] Leave a channel (default: the current one)
/query <nick> [text] Open a conversation with a user, optionally sending text

/notice <target> <text> Send a notice
/me <action> Send an action to the current conversation
/say <text> Send text as typed, including text that starts with a slash
/echo <text> Show text only to you, in this window
/nick <newnick> Change your nickname
Command Purpose
/whois <nick> Look up a user
/whoami WHOIS on your own nickname
/who [mask or #channel or nick] List matching users
/userhost <nick> [nick ...] Show user@host of up to five users
/list [mask] Ask the server for the channel list
/ctcp <target> <type> [args] Send a CTCP request (PING, VERSION, TIME, CLIENTINFO, USERINFO, FINGER or SOURCE); replies appear in the server window

/topic, /mode, /kick, /ban, /unban and /invite. See Joining channels.

Command Purpose
/alias … Manage aliases (see the Aliases section of SwizzScript)
/identify Open the secure identification dialog; /identify <password> sends it without showing it
/quote <raw line> Send a raw protocol line. Commands that carry credentials are refused
/!command Run the built-in command even if an alias has the same name

/j join · /p part · /w whois · /q query · /m msg · /n nick · /slap · /ns.

For commands without a built-in form, use /quote, for example /quote AWAY :be right back. Typing such a command without /quote shows the exact form to use.

If you type an authentication message to a services bot (for example /msg NickServ IDENTIFY …), SwizzinIRC sends it but never shows it, never keeps it in the window, and removes it from Up-arrow recall. Prefer SASL or /identify, which opens a masked prompt. A password already sent to a server cannot be recalled; change it if it may have been exposed.
