Joining channels
Join with a command
Section titled “Join with a command”/join #channel/join #secret thekey/join #one,#two/j is a default alias for /join. The channel opens in a new tab and its members appear in the member list on the right.
Browse the channel list
Section titled “Browse the channel list”Choose Rooms → Browse channels, or type /list [mask]. The browser lets you filter by text, set a minimum user count, sort, and page through results. Double-click a channel, or choose Join. If the server restricts /list, its refusal is shown.
Channel names that appear in the message of the day are links; clicking one joins it. Nothing joins by itself.
Favourites and recent channels
Section titled “Favourites and recent channels”Rooms → Favorites and Rooms → Recent list channels you marked or visited. Toggle favorite marks the current channel.
Leaving
Section titled “Leaving”/part [#channel] [reason](or/p) leaves a channel. Without a name it leaves the current one.- Closing a channel tab (Ctrl+W, or the tab’s close button) leaves the channel too.
Talking
Section titled “Talking”Type in the message box and press Enter. Tab completes nicknames, and ↑ / ↓ recall earlier input. /me <action> sends an action. /say <text> sends text exactly as typed, including text that starts with a slash.
